It was standing room only at a ‘sold out’ Wallaroo Town Hall for St Mary MacKillop School’s recent Whole School Concert ‘Back in My Day’. The original production, written and directed by teacher Courtney Quigley and choreographed by the schools Dance instructor Karen McCulloch took the audience on a nostalgic trip ‘through the decades’.
Over 500 people saw the show at either the matinee performance or night performance on Thursday the 20th September. Principal, James Quigley describes the School concert as a real ‘Community production’ with parents helping to complete the ultra impressive backdrops and props and all staff members fully involved in the lead up to and on the night. “Our School Concert continues to raise the bar each year and has become a really significant part of our school. We have a very strong and deliberate focus on the Arts at our school and the concert is a showcase of the many, many talented students, parents and staff we have in our community”.
The school thanks Mad panic sound production, the Copper Coast Council for their use of the Town Hall and of course to the students and community of the school for their dedication and hard work in making the show a great success.
