Curriculum & Learning

Curriculum Middle School (Years 6-9)

Your child will be nurtured and supported to develop their individual capabilities.  Our specialist teachers will work in partnership with students and families, tailor curriculum to make it relevant and contextual to students.

Learning will be supported by custom designed learning spaces which will encourage student engagement.

Co-Curricular Activities

At St Mary MacKillop School, we recognise that learning takes place in many ways, and we will encourage our students to participate in all aspects of life; including school-captain, house-captain, and student leadership; clubs and social action groups; choirs; visual arts exhibitions and performances; a wide range of sports.

Micro-Credentialling

Students will have the opportunity to engage in short courses throughout the term providing learning experiences within a range of different career areas.  Such as, a Barista course where students will receive a microcredential in coffee making and gain an understanding through their learning about the coffee industry.

State of the Art Facility

We have been able to design facilities that provide an excellent space to teach the Australian Curriculum in a contemporary way.

Clever use of technologies, links to surrounding organisations and facilities will enhance the overall educational experience for our students.

Access to New Technologies

Students will have access to new cutting-edge technologies including:

  • 3D Printers
  • Laser Cutters
  • Virtual and Augmented Reality
  • 360 Degree Cameras
  • Vinyl Cutters
  • POD Casting Technology
  • Drones
  • Robotics

These technologies are exciting and will bring our students to the front of future educational experiences all which will be integrated into their learning outcomes.
