St Mary MacKillop School, Wallaroo

is seeking an

OSHC / Vacation Care Assistant (Casual Position)

to assist with the OSHC program (school terms) and Vacation Care program (school holiday periods).

The successful applicant must hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care Qualification (or equivalent as per ACECQA guidelines).

Criteria Statement:

1. Support the Catholic ethos of the school

2. Liaise with the director and staff to maintain clear lines of co-operation and communication

3. Provide a safe and healthy environment for children, assisting the director to ensure that the premises and facilities are secure, hygienic and in good condition

4. Assist with the provision of a developmentally stimulating environment

5. Provide objective written and oral observations of children while maintaining confidentiality

6. Ensure that children’s records are maintained and continually updated

7. Assist children with personal hygiene where needed

8. Deal with emergencies and hazards, direct other staff accordingly and report to the director as soon as possible

9. Support the service in attaining and maintaining OSHC/Vacation Care Quality Assurance

10. Work in accordance with OSHC/Vacation Care National Standards for South Australia

11. Maintain flexibility, reliability, trustworthiness and confidentiality at all times
